Kathryn Durden, LMFT

I seek to provide a safe, supportive and affirming environment for all genders, races, religions and cultures. Being passionate about working with individuals, couples or families in life stage transitions, or just seeking change. My approach to therapy is a collaborative, strengths-based, solution focused perspective and I deliver it in an empathetic, non-confrontational, and non-judgmental manner. Meeting my clients where they are and helping them get through life's journey creating healthier relationships.
I bring 25 years of combined military and civil service experience that allowed me to travel and work with individuals in different capacities from all over the world. I gained life and leadership skills that I continue to use in practice today when working with individuals. During my career, while raising a family I continued using the communication, leadership and values that I obtained along my journey to become a mid-level manager. After supervising, advocating and what felt like counseling employees, I decided it was time for change.
I had the opportunity to return to college to pursue a lifelong goal of becoming a Licensed Therapist. I attended Pfeiffer University of Charlotte, NC where I obtained a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. While doing an externship at the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center I realized a passion in creating healthy relationships for the trauma sustained by family members as well as that of substance abuse users. My clinical interests and areas of competency are with clients who have traumatic histories and substance abuse; struggles with addiction and trauma on families; depression and anxiety; relationship issues such as infidelity, communication problems, blended families, divorce, parenting, career and life transitions. Together, we will gain newer perspectives, you will become more fulfilled in your relationships, you will reach a better, more balanced, and healthier you. Let's work together to enhance your life, energize you and your relationships.

Together we will join to explore your uniqueness, together designing creative ways to overcome the challenges you face in an environment that is empowering and supportive of all relationships.
