As a clinical mental health counselor, Dawn Holmes seeks to provide a safe and welcoming space for clients to begin the healing process. Her therapeutic approach focuses on the whole person by way of the eight domains of wellness: physical, mental, social, spiritual, intellectual, occupational, financial, and environmental. Dawn's counseling style includes a person-centered approach with also utilizing other styles such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that fit the client's needs.
Dawn has counseling experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a psychiatric hospital, as well as working with young adults in a college counseling center. Her diverse experiences bring understanding with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, spirituality, family dynamics, LGBTQIA+, and life transitions.
Dawn is also a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) with the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR). She is passionate about assisting families with establishing and maintaining positive relationships with one another.
Dawn and her husband have been together for twenty years where they have raised six children. They have been able to balance the needs and the active lifestyle of the kid's ages ranging from 7 to 19, through teamwork and communication. Whether in education or community engagement this balance is always in practice and has allowed them to meet the needs of the family.
